
Bill has been interested in art since childhood drawing in pencil and
illustrating for a furniture company in Henderson, KY. The career in art did
not develop and he pursued the profession of Electrical Engineer. Bill
became interested in art again shortly before retiring from Engineering. He
enjoys painting realistically and in fine detail, particularly scenes that
contribute to the historical record. His favorite medium is Oil.
Bill is largely self taught by reading many books and studying paintings. He began painting through a painting class taught by Mrs. Janice Canter in Murray, KY in 1993.
Bill won First place in Oils in 1996 at the annual Paducah Women’s Club Art Show and Honorable Mention in 1998.
Second place at the Lyon County Art Show in 2005.
He won Best of Show in 2007 with the painting "Market House Theatre".
He won First Place in the Paducah Dogwood Celebration show in 2008 with the painting "Noble Dogwood".
He was the Featured Artist in the Paducah Women’s Club 2008 show.
There are approximately 130 owners of his artwork in several states and is represented by the PAPA Gallery and The Gallery in Murray Kentucky. His work is also shown in stores in Henderson, Murray, Paducah and Benton Kentucky.
He is a member of the Paducah Area Painter’s Alliance.
